Two things that stuck out to me about Albert & Nemesia's wedding. They love each other and love their community. I went home the night of their wedding encouraged and reminded that loving those around you is everything. It was an incredible day to be a part of! Between running a successful fitness gym full-time, spending time with their friends and two dogs, and planning their upcoming wedding in September; there's never a dull moment for Albert & Nemesia. It's clear that Albert & Nemesia are extremely committed and hardworking. I found myself drawn to their hustle for greatness and humble attitudes. As we were game planning for this engagement session, it was important to achieve something that represented their personalities and passions. Some shots at their gym and others during sunset, I hope you enjoy what we produced!

Happy Mother's Day! I am excited to be celebrating Christina's first Mother's day! She's glowing and is as beautiful as ever. Christina interacts with our baby daily and is mindful of her in every way. In light of Mother's Day, I wanted to share a few frames from our trip to California last month. I thought she was going to look a lot more pregnant, but we still had a fun time :)
Jen & Gene traveled from LA to Washington because they wanted a Pacific Northwest feel for their engagement session. Although it wasn't ideal having rain throughout the day, it made for great images and I'd say they got an authentic PNW experience. :)
I recently heard this song below from a workshop that Jonas Peterson gave. It's been on repeat ever since.
// Press Play.
November was a month full of traveling for us where we connected with old friends and made new ones. One of those trips, Christina and I spent a weekend in LA with Hanah & Julian sharing lots of laughs, riding boats, eating too much, and exploring an island off the coast of LA. It was our first time meeting them and we were quickly drawn to their big hearts and love for each other. We can't wait to see them again in March to celebrate their big day in LA!
For Caitlin & Alex, Tacoma is home. That's why it was only appropriate that they had their most special day in there. The day was nothing short of a beautiful celebration of love. Getting to know these two has been a special experience for us. They are one of the most humble, genuine, and loving people. Christina and I are so lucky to have captured their special day!
I will never forget the first time Christina and I met Michelle & Jeremy at a client meeting. There were 2 things that stood out: 1. We were drawn to their energy, dynamics, and kindness. 2. Jeremy and I ended up wearing the same brand of shirt, shoes, and glasses. It didn't take long for us to realize that we would be a good match :] Their wedding day was filled with many beautiful moments and it was very apparent that they were loved by their community. Not only are we thankful to have shot their wedding, we are grateful to have them as our new friends!
Samantha & Chase fell in love with Washington while on vacation and decided to get married here. This beautiful celebration consisted of 19 family members that traveled from all over the country. The weather was incredible, the venue was gorgeous, and there was so much love between all the family. One of the highlights of the day was when Chase & Samantha hiked down to the waterfall in their wedding attire for sunset photos. Needless to say, they are one adventurous couple and I am thankful to have documented their big day! Big thanks to Mike Fiechtner for second shooting with me.
2015 has been full of weddings with fun, genuine, sweet, and lovable couples. Diane & Nathan fit that bill perfectly. Their wedding day had so many amazing moments that celebrated each other, family, friends, and their faith. Christina and I are lucky to have Diane and Nathan in our lives. They are among the most loving, loyal, and consistent friends we can ask for. We are grateful that they chose us to photograph their wedding. Shout out to Sako Pak for shooting with us. And yes getting married on a farm is a good idea.
The Pak's are one of a kind. I met Tim & Sako many years ago through mutual friends and church functions. Tim is a lead pastor at a church in Bellevue and Sako is an awesome photographer! I love this family because one thing is very clear; selfless love dominates this household. This shoot was super fun because there were a lot of unplanned natural and honest moments. We played with lots of bubbles, we were visited by a duck tribe, and I managed to chase the girls (Noelle & Naomi) all around the park.
Although we had an amazing time at this session, we found out yesterday that Tim was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, an incurable degenerative eye disease that leads to severe visual impairment. In honor of Father's Day, Sako wrote a heartfelt letter to Tim on her blog which you can read (click here). We are truly honored that she used our images to tell her story. More than delivering these photos, I am thankful for Tim & Sako's friendship and for being an example of what a loving family looks like.
Should I have been surprised by the bad weather in January? Nope, but the day couldn't have been more perfect. Jay & Cindy made the day as beautiful of a celebration I have ever documented. 3 things were clear; they loved God, each other, and their community. Jay & Cindy were also super adventurous. Although it started raining during our portrait session, Cindy was more than willing to withstand the cold weather and take more photos. I'm thankful for Jay & Cindy and clients like them, they are the exact reason I get inspired to work harder.
Christina and I had an incredible time spending a day with Caitlin and Alex in Tacoma. We ate at one of their favorite restaurants, visited their home, walked to a park with Della (their dog), and roamed through parts of Tacoma all on a sunny day. I love the energy, trust, and strength between these two and can't wait to shoot their wedding in August!
It was one of the greatest days in Seattle history. The Seahawks win Super Bowl 48 and the city comes together for a day in celebration. Nearly 700,000 people crowded downtown as the energy that filled the streets was unreal. I almost forgot that I had snapped a few frames of this incredible day. This upcoming Sunday, the Seahawks are back in the Super Bowl looking to RePete. Can you feel the RePete, Seattle? A week from now, we'll hopefully be doing this all over again.
